Things you didn’t mention that have been important in my own professional work:

    1. Quality. Requirements for broadcast TV, for example, are quite different than (say) YouTube or video podcast, which can have a substantial impact on production cost.

    2. Content. Will media licensing be needed? Have model releases been obtained? What about location permissions?

    3. Licensing. Will it be work for hire or licensed for particular use(s)?

    4. Liability. Who is responsible for copyright, trademark, infringement, etc.

p.s. I’m impressed by the quality of your personal feed on Sciencentric. What camera do you use?

p.p.s. Your website needs HTTPS support.

    Hi John,

Apologies…your comment got snagged in the spam filter. These are really great points. It easy to forget about the legal requirements.

I shoot on a GH4 with a Sigma 18-35mm lens. The camera feed goes into a Blackmagic ATEM Mini and then is captured in Riverside.fm.
