Morning Routine for Non-Morning People
Not a morning person? Me either. In my latest vlog, I share a low-key morning routine that will get you started on the right foot.
The main components are:
- Water(1/2 liter, at least) – It’s important to rehydrate after seven to eight hours of nightly respiration.
- Yoga (15 minutes) – I do a simple 15-minute yoga routine that I discovered on YouTube. It’s a good stretch and helps get the blood moving.
- Meditation (15 minutes) – There are various forms of meditation and even apps to guide you. I practice mindfulness meditation from the Zen school of Buddhism. This makes me feel grounded, centered, and less reactive throughout the day.
- Affirmations (5-7 minutes) – I have about 20 affirmations that I repeat to myself three times each. These affirmations are designed to counter any negative thoughts and judgements I have about myself.
- Priming (5-7 minutes) – This is straight out of the Tony Robbins playbook. I ask myself a series of questions about positive aspects of my life. By focusing my thoughts on the good things, the goal is to generate positive emotions.
- Visualization (5-7 minutes) – I run through my long-term vision for my life. I also spend a few minutes looking at my vision board and imagining what success looks and feels like in the future.
What’s in your routine (if you have one)? I’d love to hear what other people are doing, so I can try it out and see if it works for me. Please share in the comments.
